I have been waiting on supplies for almost a month. Different things from dirrent parts of the world. In the mean time I have been practicing a whole bunch of techniques. I have been experimenting with different textures and liquid clays! I have been also trying to find the perfect eyelash and get better at applying them. That is mostly why my last three dolls eyes have been closed. :) This mermaid came out of nowehere really, and did  not even have a name until  two days ago! My husband said to me " she looks like she is doing Yoga or something.." so.. I came up with Zen! Unintentionally she is cymetrical with her fins and arms so her name is fitting.  I did two different photoshoots with her and I could hardly choose the best photos. In this pic of her she looks very peacfull and the blue background makes her skin pretty. Is the other photoshoot she is in a birdbath and the sun was shining beautifuly on her fins. So i went with the birdbath setting. I hope you like!!!!!

Now if I could only get around to blogging my "Essence of Fall" fairy before my aray of christmas dolls get finished!!!!:)

I am finally finished with this mermaid couple!!!! "Love in the Ocean". It took me forever because i decided to fully hand paint them. I used heat set oil paint all over there bodies! They each have hand painted eyes.  The talis are completley coated in liquid glass for a "wet" look.

"She is reaching up to touch his face and he gently placed his hand on hers, as her other hand is feeling the smoothness of his tail."

I imagine them to be so in love that it is almost painful! They are laying togther on a shell that fell on top of a rock and now is covered in seaweed. They will be on Auction within the next couple days on eBay!  Under -Ooak Mermaid-for more pictures of them check out my <- Available work page!

As the sun peacefully sets he tells her he loves her.........
